Spring 2022

In spring semester 2022, students in this American literature survey class examined David Barclay Moore's novel The Stars Beneath Our Feet. In this novel, the main character uses Legos as a physical and visual art medium to help him process his grief after losing his brother due to gang violence.  Students examined different themes, and among creating parallels from their main topics to events, songs, and television or movies around them, students also created a visual representation in art that suggested their paper ideas.  The following projects contain writing and the visual creation each student made to showcase their idea through a visual message.
