"Philosophy is the highest music," wrote Plato in Phaedo. Centuries later, Friederich Nietzche would counter, arguing that music, is in fact, the highest philosophy. No matter to which you ascribe, there has always been a link between the two. While studying Greek philosophy, David McRae's Western Civilization classes created their own "Greek Philosophy Playlists." Students were instructed to connect the teachings of ten philosophers to contemporary songs. The following Thinglink projects are the culmination of their unit on Greek ideas and society.
