Since 2018, instructors Erin Arnold and David McRae have taken students on Spring Break trips overseas. In 2023, they brought 10 travelers to Iceland where they learned about the island country's history and commitment to the environment while experiencing its distinctive culture. The group saw frozen waterfalls and volcanoes, weathered freezing winds and relaxed in hot springs, and stayed busy while finding plenty of time to relax. Among the many places the group visited was the Icelandic Punk Museum, located in an old public restroom, that told the story of Iceland's punk scene in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. Throughout the tour, they were able to sample popular Icelandic music from Björk, Sigur Ros, and Daði og Gagnamagnið. This Thinglink is both a celebration of the trip and an ode to Iceland's unique music.
